Technos started in the arcades by publishing puzzle games such as Mysterious Stones. Technos' earliest games were infact actually published by Data East. The first game that Technos published on its own was Nekketsu Kouha Kunio kun and was marketedsold in the United States by Taito with the name Renegade.
Technos had financial trouble after releasing Nekketsu Kouha Kunio Kun. The company was close to going bankrupt when it started to work on the sequal to Renegade.
